# How to set up success rate alerts

> Turn on per-scraper email alerts in the Bright Data Control Panel so your team hears when a Scraper API scraper's success rate drops below a threshold and when it recovers.

This guide shows you how to turn on email alerts for one Scraper API scraper in the Bright Data Control Panel, so your team is told when its success rate drops below a threshold you choose and again when it recovers.

## Prerequisites

* A Bright Data account with at least one scraper you run in production.
* Recipient email addresses added in the Control Panel settings. The alert form only offers addresses that already exist there.

## How to turn on alerts for a scraper

1. Open [Scrapers](https://brightdata.com/cp/scrapers) in the Control Panel.

2. Select the scraper you want to monitor.

3. On the scraper's page, open the notification settings and find **Success rate email alerts**.

4. Enable the alerts for this scraper.

5. Set the threshold, for example 25 percent.

6. Select one or more recipients.

7. Save.

## What the alerts send

Once enabled, a scraper sends two kinds of email:

* **Drop alert**: the success rate fell below the threshold you set.
* **Recovery alert**: the success rate rose back above that same threshold. Use it to close an incident and resume paused jobs.

  By default, alerts fire only when the scraper is in outage. Raise the threshold on the scraper's page to hear about partial degradation before a full outage.

Alerts are configured per scraper and only in the Control Panel; there is no API for them. To monitor from code, poll `GET /datasets/v3/progress/{snapshot_id}` for each job and count failures yourself.

## Troubleshooting

| Issue | What it usually means | How to fix |
| :- | :- | :- |
| No recipients to choose from | No email addresses exist in the Control Panel settings | Add or verify addresses in the settings, then return to the scraper and select them |
| No alerts arrive | Alerts are off for this scraper, or the threshold never trips | Re-check the toggle and the threshold value on the scraper's page, then save |
| Only outage alerts arrive | The threshold is still at its default, outage only | Raise the threshold on the scraper's page |
